Geeky Fun

Google has a (beta) tool for searching code. Anyone who knows programmers knows that they are a little off in the best of times, and thus their comments to explain their code are sometimes, um, colorful. Here's my favorite so far.

I could waste hours with this tool.

Here's my favorite: you are not supposed to understand this.

I remember this from some Unix or Linux source code from long ago from a context switch routine. The above search didn't find the exact one I was looking for, but it's still interesting that this particular comment can still be found.

There was a famous comment (at least it used to be famous). A programmer had declared a constant with the value '18270326' and placed on the declaration the cryptic comment 'RIP LVB'.

It was eventually determined that Beethoven had died on March 26, 1827.
