Still Not Gettin' It

No, the supporters of illegal immigration still don't quite get it.

Waiving Mexican flags, raising them above the American flag, and flying Old Glory upside down was not a great way to gain support or show how much you love America.

Neither is a campaign to boycott U.S. products on the biggest holiday in the Communist world.

I think that the protestors are lacking one of the most critical elements of social protest: the anthem.

"We Shall Overcome" is burned into our memories. Many of the old negro spirituals are classics.

What shall we propose for the Hispanic immigrant movement? A Ronstadt ditty? A J-Lo ballad?

On the humorous and cruel side, there's Queen: "I want it all, and I want it now..."

But if they want to get people who are not illegal immigrants and whose brains are not mush to take them seriously, how about the "Star Spangled Banner" - in English, not translated?

I think that would certainly do a lot more for them than "Si, se puedo." (To which my immediate thought is "yes, we can deport you.")
