That's About the Size of It
Bill Roggio lays out the likely consequences of withdrawing from Iraq without first beating the enemy. And note that, unlike the Left, he's not looking at domestic political consequences. And yet the Left anxiously wants us to pull out, primarily for domestic political reasons. Somehow, they never address what happens after. Talk about not planning for the aftermath...

It's not the whole Left and not even the partisan Left. Praktike, for example, would self-identify as Left and partisan Left. And he's anti-withdrawal at least in part because of the consequences in the Middle East.

Hmmm...pronoun troubles.
I think of the Left as distinct from the left. That is, a leftist is simply someone whose political preferences tend to government control of or strong influence over economic matters, while a Leftist tends towards totalitarianism (as does a Rightist). I would define praktike as leftist.
That said, if you go read, say, Kevin Drum's blog (the comments in particular) or Kos or TPM or any of the other large, left-leaning blogs, there's a very distinct group that wants us to pull out of Iraq for domestic political reasons.
I'm open to better terms. What do you suggest?
