Sosa Hits #500

Sammy Sosa hit his 500th career home run, making him the 8th player ever to reach that level. Cubs lose, though, bringing their record to 2-2-0.

My Jays finally won tonight, too. And who gets the win but Tanyon Sturze, 4-18 last year with his first win coming in June. Doug Creek and Jeff Tam closed out the game, and it's interesting that all 3 came from the Devil Rays. If any of them pan out, it's one more piece of the puzzle as we build toward a contending team next year.

The Jays look like they have some real prospects over the next two to three years. They may have a problem developing them, though, if the more predatory teams are paying attention.

Hopefully the Cubbies pitching staff will fulfill their promise. If so, this could be the best year they've had since Ryno retired.
