Not the lesson I'd hoped he'd take away from the story ...

Today I read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" to Griffin. He narrated it back to me - a beautiful narration.

Then I prompted him for the moral of the story, which he said was:

"Never tell the truth after you lie."

We always kind of pegged him to be the televangelist of the family. Maybe we should be considering politics, instead? Campaign management?

Yes, but he apparently told you the TRUTH about what he thought the moral was. You need to teach him the subtlety of simply telling you what you want to hear, and keeping his own thoughts to himself (all the while laughing behind your back that you're sucker enough to believe him).

Oh wow, it's amazing what they come up with, isn't it? Thanks so much for a genuine laugh at the end of the day!

Political advisor. He is able to "speak truth to power" - in this case he told you not what you wanted to hear, but what he thought the truth was. Televangelists and politicians tell people what they want to hear. Advisors know the truth, but only speak it to the ones they work for.
