Nine
Or should that be, Two of Four?
And yes, it is too a cube. So it's short. Shuddup.
Completely Trek obsessed, this kid is. He's a walking, talking, nine-year-old Star Trek encyclopedia. Cute, too. And smart. He has a talent for music, and a great sense of comic timing. He chirps. I think he started the chirping. You see, after the second parakeet died (yes, it died too), he decided to take the philosophy of be the parakeet. He started chirping. Now they all chirp. Sometimes, they chirp songs. "Chirp?" is most often used as a way of saying "huh?"
I thought he realized that chirping was maybe not for outside-the-home interaction, but no: The first time we visited the orthodontist, the doc asked Aidan a question. Aidan cocked his head to the side, and asked, "Chirp?"
Ah, those crazy, unsocialized homeschooled kids.
He certainly makes life interesting, but he's always worth it.

I am glad you are back. I have been following your blog for a few months now. I also have a Star-Trek obsessed boy--but he is 13. His Bar Mitzvah Sermon was all about Star Trek. I am glad we are not the only such family around.

Wow. I'm not even a big Star Trek fan, and I knew right away what that was. That's an awesome cake! And a very happy birthday to Aidan! (And I see other birthdays listed in the comments? Did I miss those? Happy Belated Birthday Wishes, guys!!)

Dy, my birthday was on the 2nd, and Jeff's is the same day as Aidan's. Connor's is later in the month.
Hootandflutter, I consider myself to be a pretty creative person, but it's strictly in a "let's wing it" sort of way. Not to mention that I couldn't find any guides or examples of "Borg cake" out there.
I think the next birthday boy is hoping for a Borg sphere. Heh.
