Punishing the Educated SAHMs

You see, when the government pays for your education, they think they should have some say in what you should do with it. Imagine that.

I don't think they are wrong. If the government provides that education with the expectation of training a workforce, then the person who takes the education and chooses to not work probably should pay up. However, it shows just how flawed the Dutch are in their understanding of the importance of raising one's own children.

I'd prefer to pay for the education, thanks.

Hmmm.. I dunno. If those are the terms of the deal, I'd feel better if the exact details were written out in a contract. It's certainly fair to want someone to perform a certain service in exchange for hte money, but I don't think it's fair to not list your epectations until after the fact.

I totally agree with silvermine - as long as you know the score before you begin your education and it's not done retroactively. I'm curious to know if they would punish educated stay at home fathers. And how do they treat people who are self-employed?

Welcome to the world of big government! Don't let us follow in their footsteps.
