Table Blessing
You have to understand that Lachlan, who is three years old, calls sneezes "bless you." If he sneezes, he runs into us and says, in his sad little-boy-wants-attention voice, "I have bless yous."
Tonight, at our family Yule dinner, we thought we'd ask one of the boys to say the table blessing. Connor declined. Aidan declined. Griffin said "Tinco!" (His I'm-being-silly word.)
So without thinking, we asked Lachlan if he'd like to bless the food.
He said yes.
He sat quietly for a second, closed his eyes, and sneezed on the food.

That's awesome! My kids called sneezes "blashoos" for a long time, too!
Ummm, not to complain or anything, but I've been coming here a lot, and, well, there's not a ton of blogging going on. Not that I have room to talk, but well. Just saying. ;)

ok that is hysterical. and you know I don't think there is any ONE correct to bless your food, maybe he has created a new tradition ;-)

Ok, that IS funny...tho if he does make that a tradition, he's not allowed to "bless you" the food at my table ;-)
And what's up with the fake words??? Rachel & Zachary are doing that now and it's driving us INSANE!!!

Can you imagine what was going through that kid's mind? "Oookay, Mom and Dad want me to sneeze on the food ... guess if that's what they want ...."
Griffin has always done the fake words. It's one of his coping mechanisms. He likes to be the funny one, but at the same time his language skills are behind. He doesn't like to be put on the spot, so if you ask him a question and he feels unable to answer, or put on the spot, he'll be funny with a made-up word.
