Today's song is quite possibly my favorite Christmas song of all-time: Carol of the Bells.
This is generally performed as an instrumental, but I first learned it with lyrics.
Although there are many beautiful versions of this song, my favorite is called "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra off their album "Christmas Eve and Other Stories." And if you happen to like this combination of Christmas and metal, you might want to check out the original album this tune was on. The album is called "Dead Winter Dead" and it's by Savatage.
Hark, how the bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say, throw cares away ...

Posted by: Stephanie on December 5, 2004 09:33 AMCarol of the Bells is my favorite Christmas song too. I love it because it's in a minor key (or at least it sounds & feels to me as if it is; what do I know about that stuff?). :)
