Christmas Spirit

Jeff strongly prefers that I not start playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving.

But he doesn't know that I have this:

That will be fantastic...after Thanksgiving.

Tim is just like that (although he more than strongly prefers that I wait til the Friday after thanksgiving to pull out the holiday CDs, he tries to insist ;-) but now that he is out of the country i guess he really can't stop me now can he?? hehehehe.....

I used to complain about it starting before December 1st, back when Thanksgiving became the switchover day.

Jeff is right: Holiday music before Thanksgiving is just wrong.

I'm gonna go with Jeff here, too. BUT I think you can keep the tree up and the music on well into January in an attempt to keep it from being a month of doom and blahs.

Of course, I really ought to fess up that Canadian Thanksgiving is over before Halloween, and I've got the children's choir on in the background as we do art this morning. :-p

I hate to say it, but as compelling as a Barenaked Ladies CD is, I agree; Christmas music before Thanksgiving is sick and wrong. I've gotten so focused on trying to preserve Thanksgiving that I'm toying with the idea of wearing a Pilgrim outfit every day between Halloween and Thanksgiving next year and staging protests at the Wal-mart and Target when they put up the Christmas stuff on Nov. 1. (We will have moved next year, so my extended family will be spared the embarassment of me being on the news :o)

Go Jill! I say do it. I don't want to slight Thanksgiving, I just think it comes at the wrong time. The Canadian Thanksgiving comes at a much more sane and sensible time of year.
