Marshall, Will and Holly ...

... on a routine expedition ...

Come on, now, sing along, everyone!

Uncle Brian gave the kiddos the first season of Land of the Lost on DVD. Oh, my. Do you remember how bad those special effects were? They were far worse than that. Really. Really.

Aidan asked me why they didn't update the effects when they put it on DVD. I had to explain to him that not everone is George Lucas: Other folks want to ensure that their art lives on in its original state. (Snicker.)

Did you know that Walter Koenig and Larry Niven wrote for LOTL? Amazing.

I LOVED that show!

My BIL once actually saw a sleestack (sp? it's late)- after pulling 48+ straight hours of guard duty on a submarine... it came around the corner... wearing an officer's uniform. Thankfully the haze cleared before he opened fire. That would have made one heck of a court martial.

That is the best laugh I've had all week. Truly. I can just imagine the court martial. LOL

I loved that show, too. Couldn't get through Saturday mornings without it.

I'd be afraid to watch it now.

As far as Aidan's comments go - all I have to say is "ARRRRGGGGH!!!!!"

I hate that George Lucas has now reset expectations that FX must be "modernized".

ROFL! Their 'art'? LOL LOL LOL!!!

Oh lord that show brings back memories. I could never decided if I liked it or not. It LOOKED like a neat concept, but then some of the actors would open thier mouths and speak and I would go "ERK!!!!!! Shut it off shut it off!!"

Myself, I like a good healthy dose of Schoolhouse Rock whenever I feel nostalgic... lol

BTW - I may have my hubby convinced to go into homeschooling next year. The cost of private school is eating us alive. I was wondering if you would share with me your average monthly cost of running your homeschool (if you wish to answer privately, would love to get your advice on this) I am keenly interested in the Well Trained Mind, and should we do it, it will be my cirriculum. Daughter will be going into 6th grade.

Yes, Uncle Brian is sadistic, but he knows what the kids will like.

Incidentally, I was rather more amused, after buying LotL for the kids, than I had a right to be when Chrichton made a Sleestak referance in the Farscape mini-series.
