... left in Chicago.
We're at least halfway packed. I'm working on steam cleaning the carpets, fun stuff like that. The weather is beautiful, though - high 50s and sunny - so we're going to spend as much of the next three days outside as possible.
I'm still stunned that I've come to love this city so much. We're conniving ways to come back. Not that I'm not happy to be going home, to our house and our neighborhood and our friends. I am, of course I am. This is a very special place, though, and I want to come back. In some ways, I feel like I've just figured out how to live here.
I will miss walking by the lake. I will miss being able to walk to world-class museums and just hang out, without the pressure and rush of an hour's drive each way. I will miss being able to walk to a zoo and just hang out. I will miss the public art and gardens that fill the city. I will miss Millennium Park. I will miss the gorgeous buildings.
I think the planetarium and aquarium are on the agenda for today, so I'd better get to that carpet cleaning.Posted by Steph at October 4, 2004 08:32 AM
