Doing my best to ignore the political drivel and snide remarks about our current foreign policy/military engagements, I can only wonder why ANY employer continues to place value on a college diploma. Apparently you need do no more than stay awake to get a degree today.

I recently read about the vanishing C at, I believe, Harvard, although it's prevalent at most institutions of 'higher learning'. Very little work is actually considered average any more; instead most students are just given A's and B's.

Have you heard about the UMass grad student's editorial in his school paper on the death of Pat Tillman? It's the most ignorant tripe I've heard in, well...it would have been some time if Ted Kennedy would ever shut up! It's painfully obvious that a college education is no barometer of intellectual ability.

Many employers are beginning to see a college diploma for just what it's worth. They're developing their own testing strategies for potential employees. They're finding that they can't count on recent grads to be able to write a memo. They're still requiring the diplomas, though.
