The Wisdom of Flylady

Flylady is right. One of Flylady's commandments is that thou shalt wear shoes in the house. As soon as you get dressed (in the morning), you are to put on your shoes. The idea is that shoes on your feet tell your body that you're ready to work, not laze around all day.

I rebelled against this commandment for a long time. I am a confirmed barefoot-in-the-house type of gal. But I decided to just try the shoe thing, to see if there really was anything to this or not.

I have been converted. This shoes in the house thing is really great! I don't know if it makes me more industrious or not, but here's the thing: when I have my shoes on ... I can't feel all the crap that's all over the floor.

:)

Isnt that true? FLYLADY and the shoes drives me bonkers but I too, am crunchy free underneath my little feet. *grin*

Yeah, well, if I wore shoes, I'd never be able to figure out when it's time to vacuum/sweep.

That's one reason why I wear shoes! I don't do the full flylady, but I've had to wear shoes for years because otherwise my tootsies are too tender.

Another side benefit - next time you declare a 'just for mom' moment, whether it's at the end of a day, or just until the coffee mug is empty, take your shoes off. Declare yourself off duty. I can sometimes actually feel my neck muscles relax when I do this.

Uh oh! I barely wear clothes in the house and I certainly don't wear shoes.

Tammy,

I assume (lol) the vacuuming will become an issue at some point. But for now, ignorance is bliss :)
