I started back on the Weight Watchers points system on Monday. I went over points both Monday and Tuesday. And I'm using nursing points, which gives me 10 extra points a day!
I do all right during the day. It's dinnertime and after dinner that gets me. I eat a huge dinner, and then snack.
Bleah.
Posted by Steph at July 2, 2003 08:14 AMGood for you! I started in Sept, and have lost 30 pounds, and it feels so good. I'm amazed that my body actually knows how to get full now. I know what you mean about the evenings! I've dropped down into the 18-23 points range for my last 10 pounds, and it is sooooo hard. Do you want some of my favorite tips? Because they're coming: 1c applesauce, warmed, with 1/4c cottage cheese ( warm and sweet and comforting and the warm applesauce softens the cheese, perfect snack to get you throught the late afternoon, 2 pts); bean/lentil salad - 1c canned beans or lentils, mixed with 2c assorted chopped veggies like cukes, tomatoes, broccoli and 0 pt Italian salad dressing (2 pts for an ENORMOUS bowl of food); the 1 pt frtittata - 3 egg whites beaten and poured over a pan full of sauteed 0pt veggies. I like zucchini, mushroom, green onions. Add a pita for another 2 pts.
I can't wait to have lost the last 5-10 pounds I need to fit into my goal pants, and then go on Maintenence! 18 points is so hard, and 23 doesn't feel a lot better, lol!
Good luck and good eating!

I"ve done WW once before, after Griffin was born. He didn't nurse and so I had a hard time losing my pregnancy weight. I lost 25 pounds on WW, and then got pregnant! This time I'm starting out at the weight I was when I got pregnant last, so at least I don't have that 25 pounds to lose all over again.
I'm not as motivated this time, though. I think I"ll get there. It's just a slow start. I'm out of the habit of eating vegetables, and if I can just get back in the habit -- and re-learn how to limit portion sizes -- I'll be okay. I've got 30-40 pounds to lose.
I'm not actually going to meetings right now, but Jeff is doing the program with me, which helps immensely.
That applesauce/cottage cheese dish sounds wonderful! Thanks for the tips! And congrats on being so near your goal! That's wonderful!
